Job Title: Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic** **Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic to provide support primarily in the Flagstaff/McGuireville area, with occasional assignments within the Phoenix area, ranging from Coolidge to Tonopah. This is a union position where you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of equipment including excavators, skid loaders, small engines, and welding equipment. Ideally, candidates should reside in Flagstaff or within a reasonable travel distance to the area.

Responsibilities

+ Conduct troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair of heavy construction equipment.

+ Coordinate with the Equipment Manager and work independently or with a 'fueler' as required.

+ Travel to various job sites each day, primarily within the Phoenix metro area.

+ Ensure all maintenance and repair tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

+ Maintain strong organizational and communication skills to manage multiple projects.

+ Operate and perform preventive maintenance on equipment to ensure operational efficiency.

Essential Skills

+ Strong mechanical skills with expertise in troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance.

+ Excellent customer service and communication skills.

+ Proficient in welding, brake systems, pneumatics, and heavy equipment repair.

+ Ability to diagnose and repair Caterpillar equipment.

+ Possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Fundamental understanding of ADthe person and Dthe person requirements.

+ Possession of Hazmat certifications is advantageous.

+ A clean driving record is required; CDL is a plus but not mandatory.

Work Environment

This union position involves fieldwork at various construction sites. Work hours are flexible, starting between 5 am and 7 am, with an hour lunch break, totaling 40 hours per week with occasional overtime if needed. Travel is required but typically completed within the standard workday, and you will be home each night. Basic tools are required, but specialized tooling will be provided. A work truck equipped with torch and weld equipment will also be provided for your use.

This is a Permanent position based out of Flagstaff, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62000.00 - $79000.00/yr.

Will participate in the Union benefits program
