    We're hiring a Maintenance Technician for a food production facility in Swedesboro, NJ

     

    This is a direct opportunity hiring immediately. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for operating, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing production and processing equipment while ensuring smooth and efficient operations. This includes equipment used for food processing, packaging, & conveyors systems,

    Shift: 5 Days a week

     

    1st Shift 6:00AM - 2:30PM@ Monday-Friday

    2nd Shift 3:00PM - 11:30PM@ Monday-Friday

    **Pay Rate** $23.00-30.35 depending on experience

    Job Description

    The Technical Machine Operator is responsible for operating a fully integrated high-speed production system within a production environment. This role ensures that supporting operators are trained, and that equipment is functioning and maintained to meet expected throughput. The operator will observe process flow and equipment to optimize the system, resolve equipment issues, and communicate findings with management, maintenance, and operators.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform equipment set-up and maintain equipment for automated manufacturing.

    + Develop work instructions for operational equipment to standardize processes across lines and shifts.

    + Analyze processes to understand steps, interdependencies, and applications used.

    + Provide subject matter expertise to team members and stakeholders on equipment and integration.

    + Troubleshoot, conduct tests, and diagnose malfunctioning or poor-performing equipment.

    + Collaborate with maintenance to identify equipment usage, parts replacement, and schedule maintenance to ensure maximum functionality.

    + Follow established GMP work instructions and procedures.

    + Partner closely with operations, maintenance, IT, leadership, and equipment manufacturer.

    + Audit data collection tools and processes to ensure data integrity.

    + Review and update the PM program with the maintenance team to ensure consistent uptime and reduce downtime.

    + Ensure availability of critical spare parts with the maintenance inventory team to prevent operational downtime.

    + Provide daily on-the-job training and guidance to operations team members.

    + Complete other tasks as assigned.

    Skills

    + Mechanical aptitude from previous maintenance positions or transferable fields.

    + Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues.

    + Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.

    + Strong interpersonal skills and ability to function effectively in a team environment.

    + Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

    + Experience leading or working with a team integrating production systems and machinery.

    + Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all team members.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Two-year associate degree in industrial automation, engineering, robotics, or similar field required with 2-4 years of experience, or 5 years of related experience.

    + Experience with automated slicing systems, weighing systems, transport systems, vision systems, smart sensors, PLCs, labelers, and case packaging systems is a plus.

    + Some ability to troubleshoot and repair basic electrical/3 phase motors.

    + Preferred experience working with electronics, PLCs, hydraulics, and pneumatics.

    + Experience auditing systems and coordinating with maintenance teams on root cause analysis.

    + Natural leadership ability and skill to work in a fast-paced environment.

    Work Environment

     

    Work in a food processing plant with cold temperatures around 35 degrees, along with maintenance shops that are not cold. You will work in two buildings located across the street from each other. The production floor is wet, cold, and involves working around food. Be prepared to handle time-sensitive, high-pressure situations when machinery goes down.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $47840.00 - $63128.00/yr.
