    *Description*

    Summary:

    Responsible for the Operating Room / Cystoscopy Suite / Endoscopy Suite preparation and housekeeping, medical waste disposal and patient assistance in collaboration with all other members of the health care team under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.

    Job Qualifications: Experience necessary

    * Licensure: None required.

    * Education: High School Diploma/GED.

    * Experience: Hospital or surgical center experience preferred.

    * Certifications: BLS preferred at hire

    * Ability to read, write and speak the English language.

    * Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, their significant other(s), surgical center staff, physicians/surgeons, and other health care workers.

    * Computer skills.

    * Regular patient contact.

    Working Conditions:

    Manual: significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity

    Occupational: Significant occupational risk

    Physical Effort: Very Heavy effort. May exert up to 50 lbs. force

     

    Physical Environment: Significant exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
