Lead Medical Laboratory Scientist - Lab Administration

Work location: Texas Health Dallas, 8200 Walnut Hill Lane, Dallas, Texas 75231
Work hours: Full-time - Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm

Here's What You Need
* Bachelor's Degree Medical Technology, Applied Technology, Clinical Lab Science or Chemical, Physical or Biological Science required
* Internship in an approved Medical Technology training program required
* Four years' experience in a Medical Laboratory required
* Two years of hospital lab experience preferred
* Two years of leadership experience preferred
* Proficient knowledge of CAP/CLIA, and TJC regulations, PolicyConnect, and Sharepoint site management preferred
* CAP inspection experience and Knowledge of Quality Management System components preferred
* Licensed MT(ASCP) - Medical Technologist within 6 months required or MLS(ASCP) - Medical Lab Scientist within 6 Months required or other AMT, AAB, HHS, NCA, HEW, CLS- CA, FL, NY state license, Philippine Board of Technical Technology Upon Hire required or M(ASCP) - Microbiology if working in Microbiology within 6 months required or BB (ASCP) - Blood Banking if working in Blood Bank within 6 months required
What You Will Do
+ Reviews, evaluates, and oversees corrective action for monthly QC proficiency testing
+ Provides problem solving expertise and leadership skills in technical training, information systems, and workload problems.
+ Participates in yearly CAP checklist
+ Serve as a technical expert to educate staff, respond to nursing requests, and collaborate with other departments and teams regarding collections
+ Makes adjustments for workload, maintenance and unscheduled workflow problems.
+ Perform interviews, evaluations, and competencies to meet laboratory and hospital compliance requirements
+ Assists in technical troubleshooting.
+ Prepares reports for Clinical Pathologist as needed
