Purpose of Role
We are seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead efforts in maximizing equipment efficiency across plastic injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment, automation systems, and plant facilities. This role oversees preventive maintenance programs, manages reactive repairs, and implements long-term solutions to recurring issues. The Maintenance Manager will lead a team of skilled professionals while prioritizing safety and collaborating cross-functionally with all plant departments.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment & Facility Management
+ Maintain and improve building, facilities, and manufacturing equipment.
+ Oversee repair, upkeep, and refurbishment of injection molding machines, molds, extruders, robots, decorating equipment, and auxiliary systems.
+ Manage contractors for specialized work and facility maintenance.
+ Implement and execute preventive maintenance programs aligned with national standards.
+ Set departmental goals and strategies supporting SQCDP and continuous improvement initiatives.
Team Leadership
+ Lead and develop a technical team in a 24/7 operation, ensuring efficient resource utilization.
+ Schedule and manage daily work assignments for timely, high-quality completion.
+ Drive safety initiatives and ensure compliance with OSHA and NEC standards.
+ Provide ongoing coaching, quarterly reviews, and annual performance evaluations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
+ Partner with Engineering on automation, equipment upgrades, and process improvements.
+ Lead root cause analysis for downtime events and implement permanent solutions.
+ Share best practices and standards with internal and national teams.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor-s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering.
+ 10+ years of maintenance management experience.
+ SMRP/Reliability Engineering certification preferred.
+ Injection molding experience (Krauss Maffei machines a plus).
+ Familiarity with robotics, automation, and Allen Bradley PLC controls.
+ Strong knowledge of industrial electricity and hydraulic systems.
+ Experience with CMMS planning and scheduling.
+ Proficiency in Lean methodologies (5S, Kaizen, Kanban, root cause analysis).
+ Commitment to safe work practices and preventive/predictive maintenance.
