Responsibilities
Summary:
The Shipping / Warehouse Forklift Operator is responsible for picking loads, loading trailers, staging products for pickup, pulling product, moving product with lift truck/turret truck within the warehouse, daily inventory, weekly and monthly, receiving raw materials, packaging orders, receiving orders in computer, distributing deliveries to appropriate departments and maintaining warehouse organization.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
+ Follows all Company policies and procedures
+ Maintains an accurate cycle count of product
+ Moves product from staging area to designated area within the warehouse
+ Safely drives lift truck/turret trucks or yard trailers trucks as required
+ Maintains row tags for material staged on the floor
+ Must be able to work overtime when required
+ Operates the forklift to move materials to the lines as needed
+ Inspects all pallets for accuracy regarding weight and product
+ Stacking configuration
+ Places finished goods in appropriate area in the warehouse
+ Maintains proper housekeeping while performing duties
+ Required to assist wherever needed
+ Performs daily safety check before using forklift each shift
+ Follows all company policies, procedures and safety guidelines
+ Performs inventory control activities, verify products fit on loads, verify accuracy of pick/pack and staged orders
+ Performs warehouse consolidation efforts, and performs warehouse walk through reporting all discrepancies to leadership

Qualifications & Requirements:
+ **Requires and understanding of methods for shipping/loading requirements and each customer’s special instructions**
+ **Must be willing and capable of working an 8-hour shift schedule, which could include weekdays and weekends**
+ Must be detail oriented
+ Ability to do functional math: (i.e. add, subtract, multiply and divide)
+ Ability to type and use a computer
Qualifications
Essential Physical Requirements:
+ Talks to effectively communicate with others
+ Hearing to communicate with others and respond to manufacturing and PIT equipment sounds
+ Manual dexterity required with exposure to arm, wrist and back fatigue
+ The employee in this job is required to exert 50 pounds of force occasionally (less than 1/3 of time); and up to 35 pounds of force frequently (more than 1/3 of the total time);if over 50 lbs., requires a team lift or mechanical aid such as a roll lift or forklift
+ Must be able to stand approximately 2 hours and routinely walk the warehouse
+ Must be able to bend, twist, and rotate body throughout the shift
+ Reaching with hands and arms for as much as 100% of workday
+ Use arms to grasp, handle, grip, and type
+ Walking to operate production machines and to package and palletize finished product
+ Must be able to step up 1 ½ feet and pull themselves into the seat of a forklift
+ Must have strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and preferably JD Edwards
Work Environment:
This position requires that the employee be able to work:
Outdoors - 1/3 of the time or less
Near moving mechanical parts - Over 2/3 of the time
High or precarious places - 1/3 of the time or less
Near electrical components - 1/3 of the time or less
Near vibrating equipment and tools - 1/3 of the time or less
Fumes from equipment or airborne particles - 1/3 of the time or less
Toxic or caustic chemicals - 1/3 of the time or less
Extreme heat (non-weather) - 1/3 of the time or less
Extreme cold (non-weather) - None
Wet or humid conditions (non-weather) - 1/3 of the time or less
Loud environments (equipment operation) - 1/3 of the time or less
Language Skills:
Must be able to read and write in English
Education & Experience:
+ High School diploma or GED preferred
+ Minimum of six months in a shipping / warehouse environment
+ Minimum of six months shipping and receiving orders
