TheProduction Department is excited to announce an opening for aTelevision Producer—a dynamic opportunity for a creative storyteller who loves bringing compelling arts and cultural content to life. We’re looking for someone who can craft powerful narratives for both broadcast and digital platforms, with a strong foundation in writing and story development. The ideal candidate thrives in every stage of production—pre-production, production, and post-production—and is ready to jump in with fresh ideas and collaborative energy.
Experience withAdobe Premiereand camera operation will help you shine in this role, and familiarity withlive studio productionis a significant plus.
Minimum Qualifications
Four years of production experience in television, radio, or multimedia; OR
A bachelor's degree in film studies, broadcasting, digital media, cinematography, or communications plus one year of production experience in television, radio, or multimedia.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
The ideal candidate is a self-starter and collaborative storyteller with strong writing and editorial skills and a passion for documentary storytelling. Strong familiarity with the arts is a plus. TheTV Producerwill pitch and develop topics for series such asArt Rocks and Louisiana Legends, and will occasionally direct and produce documentaries, overseeing all aspects of production. Content may be short or long-form.
Pre-Production Responsibilities
+ Pitch, develop and book interviews for broadcast and digital content, including documentaries, series, and live shows.
+ Stay up to date on developments in the arts community, developing and fostering relationships with key stakeholders.
Production Responsibilities
+ Direct and conduct compelling on-camera interviews.
+ Direct and/or shoot appropriate b-roll, compiling and developing graphics and other visual images as needed.
+ Strong writing skills and editorial judgment is a must.
Post-Production Responsibilities
+ Work with assigned editor to oversee all aspects of production. Ability to edit on Adobe Premiere is desired.
+ Ensure all deliverables meet technical specs for both broadcast and digital distribution.
+ Stay current with emerging trends, tools and delivery requirements for various delivery platforms.

Appointment Type : Probational
Location : Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Work Schedule : Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday-Friday; however, varying work schedules are offered.
Division : Production Department
Compensation: Applicants that possess experience greater than the minimum qualifications may be considered for a salary higher than the minimum hiring rate utilizing State Civil Service Rule 6.5(g).
