In addition, DPHHS is the largest state agency with a wide range of advancement opportunities whether you are joining the workforce or have several years of experience. *Qualifications for this Career Opportunity*** ** * Working knowledge of clinical treatment techniques for adult psychiatric clients including subgroups of patients with psychotic disorders, mood disorders, personality disorders, substance abuse disorders, patients involved in the criminal justice system, and other mental health disorders. * Understanding of individual and team approaches to treatment and therapy. * Knowledge and application of professional and ethical standards of practice. * Effective interviewing and information gathering techniques. * Ability to effectively utilize knowledge and skills and apply them to practical assessment and treatment modalities for patients. * Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. * Ability to analyze, assemble and organize information. *Minimum Qualifications (Education and Experience):* * Bachelor degree in a clinical, addictions counseling specific, treatment discipline. A Master's degree is preferred. * Two years of experience providing therapeutic mental health care to seriously mentally ill individuals. * Licensure as an Addictions Counselor (LAC) is required.
