    Position Summary

    Bowdoin College’s Department of Government and Legal Studies invites applications for a full-time benefits-eligible visiting assistant professor appointment in American politics to begin July 1, 2026. This appointment is intended as a 3-year position, contingent upon successful review after an initial one-year appointment. The teaching load is two courses per semester; one of the four is Introduction to American politics. We are especially interested in candidates who can teach courses on media and politics, and American political behavior; expertise in teaching undergraduate-level research methods is also welcome. A PhD is expected by the date of appointment.
