    What you'll bring to the team

     

    The Technical Supervisor leads the magic behind the scenes by guiding a talented team of Technicians to keep the attraction running safely, smoothly, and efficiently every single day. This role oversees all maintenance for rides, cinema experiences, AV systems, building operations, and core facility machinery while ensuring the attraction stays fully staffed, fully operational, and fully unforgettable for every guest who walks through the doors. ✨

     

    Qualifications & Experience

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Oversee all building and facility maintenance to ensure a safe, efficient, and smoothly operating attraction.

    • Lead the Technician team through staffing schedules, daily direction, training, and ongoing development.

    • Oversee preventative maintenance and asset management using Facilitree software.

    •️ Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot all major systems including HVAC, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and plumbing equipment, as well as rides and themed attractions.

    • Use hands-on technical expertise to quickly solve problems and reduce downtime for rides and facilities equipment.

    • Support a wide range of technical duties including lighting work, re-lamping, painting, wall repairs, custodial oversight, F&B equipment care, and exhibit setup and takedown.

    • Coordinate all statutory equipment inspections and ensure all safety and compliance documentation is completed accurately and promptly.

    •️ Prioritize and execute tasks effectively while managing tight budgets and fast-paced operational needs.

    • Develop continuous improvement plans and support operational success through budgets and action planning.

    • Lead training, evaluations, and performance development while maintaining accurate records.

    •️ Champion a safe work environment by upholding the highest Health, Safety, and Security standards aligned with Merlin Entertainments policies.

    • Inspire and empower the team to be guest-obsessed and deliver world-class service.

    •️ Forecast staffing needs, build schedules, and ensure proper Technician coverage at all times.

    • Build a strong, engaged team culture through coaching, recognition, and performance programs.

    • Support additional exciting duties as needed to keep the attraction shining at its best.

    Education and Experience

    • High school diploma or GED required. Technical college degree preferred. Bachelor’s degree a plus.

    • At least one year of supervisory experience in a technical or themed environment.

    • Hands-on experience with animation, automation, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, electronics, and networks.

    •️ Previous maintenance experience with rides, facilities equipment, and mechanical or electrical systems.

    • Background in guest-centered service environments is helpful.

    • Proven ability to multitask, stay organized, and stay calm under pressure in fast-paced environments.

    • A confident, approachable leader with excellent communication, team-building, and coaching skills.

    • Highly self-motivated with energetic, positive, and inspiring leadership qualities.
