We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Test Engineer to lead the creation, execution, and optimization of test programs within our Test Engineering department. This role involves significant independent work on complex tasks and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will grow to be a recognized Subject Matter Expert (SME) in testing methodologies and will interface with various cross-functional teams, including Design Engineering, Program Management, and Business Development, to ensure product safety, quality, and compliance.

    Key Responsibilities

    Test Program Management & Execution

+ Develop, manage, and execute comprehensive test plans and procedures (Qualification Test Plans/Reports - QTPs/QTRs, Acceptance Test Procedures - ATPs) for new and existing products.

+ Lead the coordination of activities for the development, identification, procurement, installation, verification, and calibration of new or upgraded test equipment and instrumentation.

+ Determine the conditions, schedules, and resources required for test execution.

+ Provide oversight and supervision in the design and fabrication of testing and test control apparatus and equipment.

+ Perform detailed test data trend analysis, optimize test parameters, and provide critical feedback to Design Engineering.

+ Generate necessary Work Orders, Statements of Work (SOWs), and Requisitions for sub-contracted testing, interfacing with external vendors to ensure requirements and schedules are met.

+ Manage sub-contract costs and labor estimations for contract proposals.

+ Achieve expert status in cost accounting (SPI/CPI) and program management for test programs.

+ Adept at using Visual to set up Engineering Masters for test cards.

    Safety & Compliance

+ Actively participate in completing Process Safety Management (PSM) activities for new and existing processes, ensuring all safety considerations are addressed with sufficient countermeasures for personnel safety and environmental compliance.

    Cross-Functional Collaboration & Business Systems

+ Actively participate in Sales Order Kick-Off (SOKO) meetings, reviewing proposed vs. contracted testing requirements to close gaps before production release.

+ Actively participate in Sales Order Close-Out (SOCO) meetings, documenting technical lessons learned (e.g., test issues, material obsolescence).

+ Collaborate with engineering and technical personnel to troubleshoot and resolve testing problems, system malfunctions, and data interpretation issues.

+ Actively participate in problem-solving teams related to production anomalies, customer complaints, or field returns.

+ Provide technical support to Program Management, Applications Engineering, and Business Development by generating technical inputs for proposals, including data deliverables and testing cost estimates.

    Leadership & Continuous Improvement

+ Work independently with little to no supervision, prioritizing a heavy daily workload supporting factory deliverables.

+ Provide technical guidance and mentorship to lower-level engineers.

+ Champion 5S, Continuous Improvement, and LEAN methodologies within the department.

+ Lead efforts for capital acquisitions of test equipment or facility modifications.
