About the Role:
Dive into the critical function of industrial instrumentation by supporting the installation, calibration, commissioning, and maintenance of complex control systems within manufacturing environments. As an Instrument Technician Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of essential production equipment, from flowmeters and pressure gauges to controllers. This role is your chance to develop foundational technical skills in inspection, testing, troubleshooting, and applying ISO-accredited quality assurance standards to keep vital industrial processes running smoothly.

Here’s a glimpse into your day to day:
+ Assist with inspection, testing, adjustment, and repair of electric, electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic instruments and systems
+ Support calibration of instrumentation for production equipment and auxiliary measurement systems
+ Help test accuracy of flowmeters, pressure gauges, temperature indicators, controllers, and other instruments using standard test equipment
+ Participate in tracing and testing electronic circuitry and components under guidance
+ Maintain calibration standards and documentation
+ Assist in creating and following monthly calibration schedules
+ Support technical processes for calibration and instrumentation
+ Observe and assist with PLC/HMI troubleshooting, minor programming, and installation of instrumentation and controls
+ Recommend upgrades or best practices as learned
+ Perform other duties as assigned, with a focus on learning and skill development
_Learning Objectives:_
+ Gain hands-on experience with industrial instrumentation and controls
+ Develop understanding of calibration standards and quality assurance practices
+ Build foundational skills in troubleshooting and technical support
+ Learn to work safely and efficiently in manufacturing and industrial environments
You’ll be a perfect fit if you have:
+ At least 18 years of age.
+ Currently enrolled in an applicable trade school or college program, entering Junior or Senior year (preferred majors: power plant technology, instrumentation, electrical, industrial maintenance, industrial technology, or related fields)
+ Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to/from job sites within MD/PA/DE/VA/NJ region.
+ Basic understanding of electricity, mechanics, or instrumentation (coursework or lab experience)
+ Strong interest in technical problem-solving and hands-on work
+ Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision
+ Willingness to learn and take on new challenges
Physical Requirements:
+ Must be able to remain in a stationary position as necessary to complete assigned tasks.
+ The person in this position needs to frequently move about client’s facilities and offices to access equipment and complete tasks.
+ Consistently operate instrumentation standards, computers, calculator, copy machine, printer and other devices to efficiently complete tasks.
+ Consistently ascend and descend portable and fixed ladders, scaffolding and other equipment used to reach equipment at various levels of height some of which maybe in excess of 25 feet in a safe manner.
+ Must be able to ascend and descend a large quantity of stairways at any given time.
+ Frequently move tools and equipment weighing up to 50lbs across client facilities as needed to complete tasks.
+ Occasionally lift and move equipment in excess of 100lbs in a safe manner.
+ Must be able to work in outdoor weather conditions as needed.
+ Support clients in the Baltimore Metro Area with occasional travel to four state coverage area, DE/PA/VA/NJ
Compensation and Benefits:
+ Pay: $20/hour
+ Annual Profit Sharing Bonus (variable)
