Machine Operator 1 – Temp-to-Hire

**Location:** Romeoville, IL

**Pay:** $18/hour

Schedule:

**2nd shift** Monday–Friday 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm

The Machine Operator ensures safe and efficient machine operation to produce high-quality products that meet customer and regulatory standards. Responsibilities include preparing equipment, monitoring performance, making minor adjustments, maintaining cleanliness, following GMP and USDA guidelines, and reporting issues promptly to supervisors while keeping accurate production records.

Key Accountabilities

+ Prepare and operate machines **safely, efficiently, and cleanly** .

+ Ensure production of **high-quality products** that meet all customer and regulatory requirements.

+ Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding production status and issues.

Responsibilities

+ Confirm tools, settings, and supplies are ready before production begins.

+ Maintain constant attention to machines and prevent unauthorized use by untrained employees.

+ Record and account for all materials used during the assigned shift.

+ Assist in keeping work areas clean and safe.

+ Make minor machine adjustments; report major repair needs to supervisor and maintenance.

+ Document all downtime due to machine malfunctions and report at end of shift.

Food Safety & Quality

+ Follow all **GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)** , including proper handwashing and hygiene.

+ Comply with **USDA guidelines** and customer requirements.

+ Report any food safety or quality concerns to supervision or quality assurance immediately.

Skills & Qualifications

+ Good communication skills; dependable, safety-conscious, and hardworking.

+ Ability to read, write in English, and perform basic math.

+ Minimum **6 months of production experience** .

+ Ability to operate mechanical and electrical machines.

+ High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

+ Strong decision-making skills.

Physical Requirements

+ Lift up to **50 lbs** .

+ Stand or walk for long periods.

+ Perform bending, squatting, and repetitive hand motions.

+ Work in **cold, refrigerated, or frozen conditions** .
