How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)
The Interiors Engineering department implements new
passenger cabins and reconfigures existing cabins for Delta's aircraft fleet
through the development and deployment of engineering solutions. The department
supports the reconfiguration of Delta's cabins as an effort to improve our
passengers' overall experience as well as to align with Delta Corporate
Strategy. Within Interiors Engineering, the department is comprised of two
teams: Cabin Avionics and Cabin Design. Interiors Engineering is currently
seeking a Project Engineer to support the Cabin Avionics team.
Roles& Responsibilities
+ Defines scope for cabin related designs, integrations,installations, and certifications of cabin components and systems for Delta’saircraft fleet.
+ Coordinates with internal stakeholders, aircraft OEMs, componentsuppliers, and maintenance repair organizations, to support the design anddevelopment of cabin reconfigurations, new product development, and/or newaircraft specifications.
+ Collect information, organize documents, and participatein design review meetings to develop Engineering Authorizations forprior-to-service or cabin retrofit projects.
+ Provides onsite prototype and production support foraircraft modifications or prior-to-service visits.
+ Develops and maintains awareness of pertinent industryactivities and technology trends.
+ Establishes work prioritization and balances multipleconcurrent projects.
+ Coordinates projects with internal and externalorganizations, including various commodity suppliers.
+ Develop strong internal customer relationships and maintainhigh level of customer focus.
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
+ Candidates forthis position should have a bachelor’s degree in engineering.
+ Internalcandidates must be performing satisfactorily in current position.
+ Internalcandidates with grade levels above the existing job posting should contact thehiring manager.
+ Previous airline,military, OEM or MRO experience with commercial aircraft is strongly preferred.
+ Must be willing totravel as required.
+ Strongwritten and oral communication skills.
+ Strong interpersonalskills.
+ Ability to work well in cross-divisional teams.
+ Consistently prioritizes safety andsecurity of self, others, and personal data.
+ Embraces diverse people, thinking, andstyles.
+ Possesses a high school diploma, GED,or high school equivalency.
+ Is at least 18 years of age and hasauthorization to work in the United States.
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)
+ Familiarity withairline operations and support systems.
+ Familiarity with CFR’s and DOT regulations pertaining to aircraftcabin certification.
+ Familiarity with use of Aircraft Technical Manuals (AMM,CMM, IPCs, WDMs, etc.)
+ Familiarity with application of Safety Risk Management intechnical applications is desired.
