Position Summary/Description:
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine invites applications for a full-time fixed term faculty open rank position to lead proteomics initiatives within the UNC Metabolomics and Proteomics ( MAP ) Core Facility. Operating within the Department of Pharmacology, the MAP Core is a university-operated recharge center offering state-of-the-art mass spectrometry-based proteomics and metabolomics services to internal and external collaborators. As a full-service facility, we support every stage of project execution from consultation and sample preparation to mass spectrometry acquisition and data analysis, using advanced instrumentation, including Thermo Orbitrap Astral, Exploris 480, and Q Exactive HF mass spectrometers; multiple LC platforms (Thermo Vanquish Neo, Ultimate 3000, Evosep One); CE systems (908 Devices ZipChip); an Agilent offline HPLC fraction collector; and automated sample preparation platforms (Seer One and Thermo Accelerome).
The successful candidate will help maintain and establish collaborative research projects, support grant funding efforts (e.g., NIH , NSF ), contribute to publications in leading journals, and advance the department’s educational and research mission while fostering interdisciplinary collaborations across the university.
