POSITION: AIR CONDITIONING TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM DIRECTOR/INSTRUCTOR – Hall Campus
REPORTS TO: Dean of Applied Technology & Transportation
SALARY: Low to Mid $70’s annually, depending on education and qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position serves as program director and retains status as full-time faculty. It provides leadership for the Air Conditioning Technology and Building Automation Systems Technology programs.
Under general supervision, responsibilities include the following:
• Develop program and course outlines, goals, and objectives.
• Prepare course content and lesson plans for classroom and online instruction for credited technology courses.
• Develop syllabi to meet program and school objectives.
• Evaluate student progress in attaining goals and objectives.
• Request and maintain supplies and equipment, and prepares required budget requests.
• Maintain program certification requirements, as appropriate.
• Prepare and maintain all required documentation and administrative reports.
• Attend required staff development training, workshops, and seminars.
• Ensure safety and security requirements are met in the training area.
• Meet with students, staff members and other educators to discuss students' instructional programs and other issues impacting the progress of the students.
• Assist with program recruitment, retention and student job placement efforts.
• Mentor part-time faculty and lab personnel
• Conduct bi-annual program industry advisory committee meetings.
• Other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates degree in Air Conditioning Technology/Refrigeration, Building Automation Systems, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited college or university, with appropriate coursework that demonstrates competencies in specific course content. Credentials must satisfy all appropriate accrediting agencies. Must have at least three (3) years of professional experience with HVACR systems. Must have appropriate licensure, certifications, or additional professional credential relevant to competencies in course content .
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
• Ability to work flexible hours and teach at the Hall campus and/or at associated LTC remote sites in the Hall County area.
• Ability to obtain knowledge of academic course standards and assess outcomes.
• Understand and support the mission of postsecondary technical education.
• Skilled in the operation of computers and job-related software programs.
• Effective oral and written communication skills, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle administrative responsibilities related to teaching courses, data collection, & reporting for licensing and accreditation agencies.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, positive attitude and appropriate attire.
• Skill in the preparation and delivery of classroom and online content;
• Skill to work and communicate cooperatively faculty, and staff.
• Skill to advise and mentor students in the Air Conditioning Technology and Building Automation Systems Technology programs.
• Ability to develop curriculum and successfully deliver courses in areas that include:
• Electrical and Electronic Fundamentals
• HVAC Motors and Control systems
• Refrigeration Fundamentals (theory) and System Components
• Refrigeration Tools
• HVAC Installation, Maintenance, and Troubleshooting Techniques
• System Design
• Gas Heat and Heat Pump Systems
• Building Automation Systems
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (in addition to minimum qualifications and competencies):
• NATE Certifications in Heat Pumps, Gas Heat, Air Distribution;
• GA. Low Voltage Licensed;
• More than three (3) years of HVACR maintenance related experience;
• Experience with Building Automation Systems and curriculum.
• Previous teaching experience in a post-secondary environment.

Minimum qualifications for this position will be determined by the teaching discipline and compliance with appropriate accrediting bodies. Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the course assigned
