This position is located in Roseville and may have the flexibility to work a hybrid schedule, or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent will be expected to work in the office as determined by policy and discussion with their supervisor.
As a Sign and Pavement Marking Inventory Management Specialist, you will provide specialized technical support and leadership in managing statewide sign and pavement marking data within MnDOT’s Transportation Asset Management System (TAMS). This position ensures the accuracy, consistency, and usability of asset data by developing and refining business processes, collaborating with district and central office staff, and delivering training and guidance. This role supports statewide decision-making by producing reports, GIS maps, and dashboards, and contributes to the continuous improvement of asset management practices related to traffic signing and pavement markings.
Occasional in-state travel is required (approx. 10% of the time).

Minimum Qualifications

Three years of professional experience (MAPE 05L and above) of transportation asset management that demonstrates the following:
+ Advanced knowledge and application of GIS software programs
+ Knowledge and understanding of database concepts, and queries.
+ Knowledge of inventory management to maintain principles and best practices.
+ Knowledge of MS Office applications sufficient to produce and manage data, documents, spreadsheets, presentations and reports.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in GIS, Computer Science, Geography or Data Science may substitute for one year of professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Knowledge of Minnesota Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, Traffic Engineering Manual, Standard Sign & Marking Summary and Manual.
+ Knowledge of traffic engineering principal and standards.
+ Advanced knowledge and application of TAMS software.
+ Advanced knowledge and application of Power BI software programs.
+ Knowledge of MnDOT’s signing and pavement marking practices, operations and standards.
