Job Title: Lead Electrical Engineer, Control Systems & Integration
Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to join our Electrical Technologies Embedded Systems team located in Rancho Bernardo. The successful candidate will thrive in a Research and Development (R&D) environment, working alongside high-caliber colleagues to support and develop high-power electromagnetic systems, laser systems, advanced airborne sensors, and space-based laser and electro-optical communications systems. This position involves leading efforts in data acquisition and system control, including writing firmware and integrating sensors, actuators, and other devices.
Responsibilities
+ Lead and contribute to the development, enhancement, and support of Laser and other control systems, utilizing LabVIEW, Bare-metal C, or C++.
+ Participate in technical design and implementation reviews, ensuring quality and compliance with system requirements.
+ Collaborate with engineers to architect control systems, taking ownership of technical decisions and design direction.
+ Generate and manage Integrated Master Schedules using MS Project, Excel, or JIRA to ensure alignment with program milestones.
+ Create clear and well-organized technical presentations and documentation for various audiences.
+ Develop and refine control processes for complex electro-optical-mechanical systems, prioritizing safety.
+ Understand and manage interdependent components of complex systems, identifying failure points and troubleshooting.
+ Independently manage technical responsibilities while guiding junior team members in a collaborative environment.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's degree, master's degree, or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution.
+ Progressive engineering experience: nine or more years with a bachelor's degree, seven or more years with a master's degree, or four or more years with a PhD.
+ Experience designing systems with embedded firmware, sensor integration, and safety-critical features.
+ Expertise in architecting scalable code solutions and applying best practices in embedded systems.
+ Knowledge of PCB design process, including reading schematics and interpreting circuits.
+ Experience troubleshooting and integrating complex systems involving firmware and hardware components.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Familiarity with DoD technical review process: SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR.
+ Project leadership experience.
+ Aptitude for rapidly learning and applying new concepts in changing conditions.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Ability to succeed in both independent and team-based work settings.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Poway, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $160000.00 - $200000.00/yr.
