Job Title: Structural EngineerJob Description
The SR Structural Engineer 1 position requires over 10 years of experience in heavy industrial and power plant projects. Candidates must hold an accredited bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering. The role involves providing structural engineering services, as well as producing and checking structural steel design calculations and drawings.
Responsibilities
+ Provide comprehensive structural engineering services.
+ Produce and verify structural steel design calculations and drawings.
+ Apply detailed knowledge of structural steel design principles and industry methodologies.
+ Design significant structural steel connections.
+ Ensure proficiency with structural codes and standards.
+ Utilize extensive knowledge of heavy industrial structures and components.
Essential Skills
+ 10+ years of experience in heavy industrial/power plant projects.
+ Accredited bachelor's degree in civil/structural engineering.
+ Proficiency with structural computer programs such as STAAD PRO.
+ Strong knowledge of structural steel design principles.
+ Experience in structural steel connection design.
+ Familiarity with structural codes and standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Proficient in structural engineering, structural design, and analysis.
+ Experience with concrete and structural steel projects.
Work Environment
The position offers flexible working arrangements, including remote or hybrid options. Some travel to generation sites across Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi may be required.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Birmingham, AL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $83.98 - $101.48/hr.
