Job Title: Rework SpecialistJob Description
As a Rework Specialist, you will perform general and fine-pitch soldering, including rework and replacement of multi-pin PCB components. You will operate soldering irons, de-soldering stations, hand tools, and power tools while reading and interpreting manufacturing drawings, schematics, and work instructions. Additionally, you will conduct testing activities such as current checks, burn-ins, and use of Automated Test Equipment (ATE), and program boards using designated software and procedures.
Responsibilities
+ Perform general and fine-pitch soldering, including rework and replacement of multi-pin PCB components.
+ Operate soldering irons, de-soldering stations, hand tools, and power tools.
+ Read and interpret manufacturing drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
+ Conduct testing activities such as current checks, burn-ins, and use of Automated Test Equipment (ATE).
+ Program boards using designated software and procedures.
+ Perform routine electrical tests and sort assemblies based on test results.
+ Record and report test data, discrepancies, and inspection outcomes.
+ Inspect finished products for compliance with industry and workmanship standards.
+ Maintain detailed inventory of products requiring repair.
+ Support planning, inventory control, and product movement with the materials team.
+ Participate in manufacturing audits and 7S workplace organization initiatives.
+ Train team members in assembly, testing, and inspection processes.
+ Contribute to continuous improvement and lean manufacturing efforts.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum 3 years of electronic assembly and testing experience.
+ 5 years of soldering experience required.
+ High school diploma or GED required.
+ Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
+ Proficient in reading technical documentation and using company software.
+ Good verbal, written, and comprehension skills.
+ Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Technical certification or associate degree preferred.
+ Familiarity with small hand tools and electro-mechanical assembly.
+ Experience with continuous improvement programs and quality standards.
Work Environment
The work environment involves handling small hand tools and operating various soldering and testing equipment. You will engage in a variety of activities that support planning, inventory control, and product movement. Participation in manufacturing audits and workplace organization initiatives is expected. The role requires adherence to industry and workmanship standards and contributes to continuous improvement and lean manufacturing efforts.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Carlsbad, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.90 - $25.20/hr.
