    Job Title: Manufacturing EngineerJob Description

     

    We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. This role involves overseeing electronic and mechanical assembly processes, including surface mount technology (SMT), through-hole assembly, and other advanced manufacturing techniques. The ideal candidate will resolve manufacturing issues, develop and document assembly steps, and work collaboratively with various teams to ensure product reliability and cost-effectiveness.

    Responsibilities

    + Support all aspects of electronic and mechanical assembly processes including SMT, through-hole assembly, convection reflow, and hardware installation.

    + Resolve manufacturing and process issues efficiently and effectively.

    + Develop, qualify, and document assembly steps and manufacturing processes tailored to product requirements.

    + Review and update incoming client documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.

    + Collaborate with New Product Introduction (NPI) groups to develop hardware and electromechanical assemblies that are reliable, cost-effective, and designed for manufacturability and testability.

    + Support the supply chain with analysis of alternative electrical components and commodity management.

    + Identify, design, procure, and validate fixtures and tools; support the factory equipment selection process to meet production plans.

    + Initiate, manage, and complete technical projects that lead to new or improved products or processes.

    + Perform process capability assessments and establish methods to control process output.

    + Develop, verify, and validate products from process development through to successful commercialization.

    + Train, develop, and provide work direction to operators and technicians.

    + Research and recommend new technologies to improve reliability, efficiency, and contribute to cost reduction.

    + Communicate business and technical needs, status, results, and observations to operating technical and business teams.

    + Maintain current process documentation including Work Instructions, Standard Work documents, PFMEA, and Control Plans.

    + Participate in and coordinate 5S initiatives, Lean Manufacturing, Problem-Solving, and other improvement activities.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor’s degree in engineering.

    + 3-5 years of relevant experience preferred.

    + Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.

    + Ability to organize and prioritize work based on business needs.

    + Knowledge and experience with Lean Manufacturing.

    + Basic working knowledge of CAD software.

    + Basic understanding of printed circuit board manufacturing, including gerber files and CAM software.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with report writing, manufacturing engineering, and process engineering.

    + Proficiency in process improvement techniques and new product development.

    + Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma, 5S Initiative, Solidworks, and Inventor.

    Work Environment

    The candidate will work onsite, spending approximately 60% of their time on the production floor and 40% in the office. The work schedule is flexible, with typical hours from 7-4pm or 8-5pm. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of projects for multiple customers, providing a small company feel within a larger organization.

    This is a Permanent position based out of Lenexa, KS.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $95000.00/yr.
