Job Title: Manufacturing and Test Engineer – Satellite PCBA Sub-Systems
Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing and Test Engineer to define and implement manufacturing and test processes for Satellite PCBA sub-systems. In this role, you will be a key member of the development team and serve as the primary interface among internal engineering, operations teams, and external manufacturing partners. You will ensure robust test strategies, optimize processes, and maintain quality standards for mission-critical hardware.
Key Responsibilities
+ Define and implement manufacturing and test processes for Satellite PCBA sub-systems.
+ Develop test strategies and optimize test setups/processes at Contract Manufacturing (CM) sites.
+ Identify, specify, design, and qualify test fixtures, test equipment, and diagnostic software.
+ Collaborate with Design and Manufacturing teams to enforce DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFT (Design for Test) principles.
+ Identify and report product failures to manufacturing and quality teams.
+ Train operators on processes and support recurring certification programs.
+ Record, analyze, and report process metrics to predict and mitigate failures.
+ Root cause process failures and implement corrective actions.
+ Manage configuration changes and enforce configuration control throughout the process.
+ Travel up to 50% to CM sites (Nevada, Oregon, San Jose) and Mexico (majority of travel).
Basic Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
+ 4+ years of experience building test fixtures and complex test systems (including RF functional tests, high-power electrical tests, ICT/bed-of-nails).
+ 4+ years of experience integrating software and hardware systems.
+ 4+ years of experience using standard electronic lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.).
+ Experience in electronics debug and test within a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience in space/aerospace sector.
+ RF experience is highly desirable.
+ 4+ years of experience designing and building complex test systems (ICT, bed-of-nails, BIST, functional tests).
+ Familiarity with space hardware test processes (GEVS / SMC-S-016).
+ Proficiency in test automation tools (NI LabVIEW, TestStand, Python).
+ Experience with power supplies, FPGAs, sensors, RF, and high-speed digital interfaces.
+ Ability to write test cases and procedures for CM execution.
+ Strong hardware and software development skills

This is a Contract position based out of Redmond, WA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $75.00/hr.
