Work Schedule: Days and Evenings

Hours: 7a-3p, 8a-4p, 9a-5p, 10a-6p,11a-7p, no weekends, call or Holidays.

Summary:

The Operating Nurse anticipates and fulfills the needs of the patients, coordinates activities in room, and communicates effectively with staff and others. He/she assures that documentation is appropriate, accurate, and complete. The Operating Nurse collaborates with other disciplines to revise the patient care plans according to changing patient needs. He/she also ensures individual skills are current by attending relevant education programs and maintaining status.

Responsibilities:

EDUCATION

+ Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing

+ Current registration as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of New York

+ BSN strongly preferred

+ BLS Certification required

EXPERIENCE

+ Two (2) years of acute care experience required

+ One (1) year of operating room experience or completion of a postgraduate perioperative program preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

+ Strong verbal and written communication skills

+ Computer skills

+ Ability to communicate with all levels of staff including physicians, etc.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

+ The position required heavy physical demands of lifting, positioning patients and moving equipment

+ Works on a nursing unit and in patient rooms
