Description

We are looking for an experienced Controller to oversee the financial operations of a growing construction company based in Ashburn, Virginia. This role involves managing all aspects of accounting, payroll, and project-based financial activities to ensure accurate reporting and budgeting. The ideal candidate will thrive in a hands-on environment and bring a strong background in construction accounting as well as proficiency with Sage 300 (Timberline).

Responsibilities:

• Manage full-cycle general ledger accounting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant standards.

• Oversee payroll processes, including automated payroll systems, to ensure timely and efficient operations.

• Handle project accounting tasks, including tracking costs and revenues for construction projects.

• Prepare detailed financial reports and budgets to support organizational goals.

• Administer AIA billing processes, ensuring proper documentation and timely submissions.

• Utilize Sage 300 software to streamline accounting functions and maintain financial records.

• Collaborate with project managers to monitor financial performance and address variances.

• Conduct regular audits and reconciliations to maintain the integrity of financial data.

• Provide strategic insights based on financial analysis to guide decision-making.

• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards within the construction field.

Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on the construction industry.

• Proficiency in Sage 300 software for accounting and financial management.

• Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles and practices.

• Expertise in project accounting, including cost tracking and financial analysis.

• Familiarity with AIA billing processes and requirements.

• Experience in managing automated payroll systems efficiently.

• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.

• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
