**The Stratasys Summer Internship Program** is a 12-week paid experience from May to August that lets you make an impact from day one. As an intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience on real, high-impact projects—contributing to key initiatives or even leading your own, depending on your skills and initiative.

Our campus team is dedicated to helping you grow professionally and personally through 3D printing training sessions, lunch & learns, and coffee chats with department leaders who are shaping the future of additive manufacturing. The **Mechanical Design Engineer internship** is designed to provide a new product design engineering experience within Stratasys. In this exceptional hands-on program, you will learn how a fast-paced design engineering team operates and the dynamics of a professional engineering working environment.
What you will be doing:
+ Assist new product design team in the creation, modeling, prototyping, assembly, testing, evaluation, refining/improving, documenting, and releasing for production as required by the design team
+ Ability to learn and experience many technical subjects from CAD modeling, design evaluation, prototype fabrication, lab testing, and more in a non-production-based environment
+ Construction, assembly, and hands-on evaluation of prototypes
+ Interface with outside vendors for component selection, manufacturing, and assembly
+ Embrace the dynamics of a professional engineering working environment and the role a Mechanical Design Engineer plays in helping the engineering team create and document their projects
Must have for this role:
+ Working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
+ Two years of higher education must be completed – (entering Junior or Senior year education as of Spring 2026)
+ SolidWorks CAD experience required
+ Ability to lift material weighing upwards of 40 lbs.
+ **Local to Minnesota or able to relocate without assistance to the Minnetonka, MN area**
Nice to have:
+ 3D printing experience highly desired
+ Experience operating a variety of machine shop tools, including lathes, milling machines, water jets, lasers, press brakes, and welders
+ Completed Junior year of education preferred
**Travel Requirements:** Between MN Stratasys sites

Additional Information:
For this position, the base salary is $21.50 per hour.
