THE POSITION
Are you a reliable, hard-working individual ready to explore a career in fisheries? The Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission is looking for a Fish Culture Station Foreman to join our Tionesta State Fish Hatchery in Forest County. In this role, you will oversee activities at the hatchery to ensure safe and efficient operations as well as regulatory compliance. Spend your day outdoors and play a key role in protecting, conserving, and enhancing the Commonwealth's aquatic resources!
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Fish Culture Station Foreman, you will be responsible for supervising fish culturists in the propagation of fish for stocking for Commonwealth waters. You will have the opportunity to play an integral part of the day-to-day operations at Tionesta State Fish Hatchery, while working alongside personnel to prioritize the hatchery needs to ensure efficiency. Work involves assisting with developing fish distribution schedules; producing and stocking trout and other species; directing building, grounds, and equipment maintenance and repair; handling recruitment; performing a variety of administrative functions including procurement tasks; as well as serving as the point of contact for public inquiries.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
+ Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
+ Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday. The selected candidate may be required to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
+ Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
+ Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
+ One year of experience as a Fish Culturist 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);or
+ Two years of technical experience in the propagation and care of food or game fish;or
+ An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
+ This position requires possession of an active Class B Commercial Driver’s License.
