    Hours: 65 hours/week, Mon.-Fri. 11 hours/day, Sat. 10 hours/day, 7:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M.

    The job requires the operation of tractors and other farm machinery to prepare and work fields and to plant, irrigate, fertilize, spray, cultivate, harvest, bale, and transport crops to on-farm storage or elevator facilities. Workers will operate agricultural equipment including, but not limited to, tractors with various implements, sprayers, combines, backhoes, mowers, track hoes, ATVs/side-by-side vehicles, telehandlers, field cultivators, beet harvesters and toppers, large square balers, discbines, swathers, and bale stackers.

     

    Non-CDL farm trucks will be loaded with agricultural products and operated on the farm and to storage locations. Workers will perform general maintenance and minor repairs to farm equipment and facilities, including welding as needed for equipment repair; servicing and cleaning machinery; changing combine headers; maintaining storage sheds, pivot points, buildings, barns, and work areas; and using hand tools and equipment to repair, clean, and maintain farm vehicles, grain augers, and specialized agricultural equipment.

     

    Duties also include receiving crops for drying and storage at grain facilities; transporting grain from fields to grain bins; loading and unloading grain while maintaining proper levels; operating augers and grain-handling equipment; monitoring grain moisture levels; preparing scale tickets; disposing of spoiled grain; and shoveling grain. Additional duties include mowing and general grounds maintenance and lifting and carrying items as required.

     

    There are few typical days and workers may be required to change duties and/or locations often and engage in various general functions. Daily tasks may vary based on crop, weather, and field conditions.

    Job will require periods when worker may be exposed to varying weather conditions.

    No High School Diploma or GED required.

     

    ### Minimum Experience Required

    Two (2) months experience.

     

    The job requires the worker to have or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license within fifteen (15) days of hire.

     

    Basic English literacy skills are required.

     

    Able to perform work that requires exposure to extreme temperatures, extensive pushing or pulling, sitting or walking, frequent stooping or bending over, and repetitive movements.

    ### Additional Compensation

    The minimum compensation for work performed in Minnesota is $14.60 per hour.

     

    The minimum compensation for work performed in North Dakota is $12.31 per hour.

     

    The employer reserves the right to increase wages or offer bonus compensation based on tenure, work performance, or other factors, at the sole discretion of the employer.

     

    As required for all workers in Minnesota only, hours worked in excess of 48 hours in a work week will be paid at the rate of 1.5 times the regular rate of pay.

    EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $16.28 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts. Required work-related tools and supplies provided free of charge by employer.

     

    Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year.
