The Assistant Academic Dean oversees core academic operational functions to ensure compliance and academic integrity. This role manages critical processes including attendance tracking, retention management, academic compliance monitoring, and academic support systems while supervising the Academic Operations Coordinator and Retention Coordinator (if applicable) and reporting directly to the Academic Dean.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Supervision
+ Supervise Academic Operations Coordinator and provide guidance on daily operations
+ Supervise Retention Coordinator and ensure effective retention strategies are being managed and executed
+ Manage Education Supervisors and ensure high standard of Academic Delivery standards
+ Report directly to Academic Dean on academic operations performance
+ Collaborate with faculty and staff to implement academic policies and procedures
Academic Operations Management
+ Oversee attendance monitoring and tracking systems
+ Manage academic tracking processes and data integrity
+ Final review and approval of student and faculty schedules
+ Oversee student appeals process and resolution
+ Manage evaluation of prior learning assessments
Academic Delivery & Quality
+ Comply with Lincoln Tech new faculty onboarding and training to ensure a smooth transition to the classroom environment and remain compliant accreditation requirements
+ Assist in Lincoln Instructional Foundational (LIFT) Onboarding & training for new hires
+ Ensure curriculum delivery meets institutional standardization requirements and industry standards
+ Oversee faculty performance and instructional quality
+ Comply with Lincoln Tech classroom observation standards
+ Coordinate course evaluation and continuous improvement initiatives
+ Supervise evaluation of prior learning assessments
Reporting & Data Management
+ Use internal Academic reports to manage and ensure successful student outcomes
+ Identify trends in data where improvement is necessary
+ Develop student improvement plans with Academic team
+ Collaborate with stakeholders regarding survey administration and take action on results
Accreditation & Compliance
+ Maintain institutional and programmatic accreditation standards
+ Ensure compliance with federal, state, and regulatory requirements
+ Coordinate accreditation visits and reporting requirements
+ Ensure academic compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements
+ Oversee faculty and student file management and documentation
+ Monitor academic systems for accuracy and compliance
Academic Support Services
+ Support Academic Dean in activity and event oversight
+ Oversee Learning Resource Center (LRC) operations
+ Coordinate tech day IT support for academic functions
Requirements
+ Strong leadership and supervisory skills
+ Knowledge of academic compliance requirements
+ Excellent organizational and communication abilities
+ Associate's degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred
+ Experience in education or student services
