    Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Med Surg Renal Dept

    Work location: Texas Health Fort Worth, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave. Fort Worth TX 76104

     

    Work hours: Full Time (7P-7A) for 36 hrs/week. Weekend and holiday requirements

    Department highlights:

    * Self-Scheduling that helps with work/life balance as well as opportunities for educational and career growth

    * Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team

    * Renal Med/surg (28 bed) provides care to a wide variety of Post transplant (kidney) and Med/surg Renal patients who are admitted to this floor for complications after a transplant or their body is rejecting the transplant ie. kidney failure or infections. Our unit population, in addition to post transplant patients, encompasses complex patients with renal diagnosis, both chronic and acute, often with multiple comorbidities, and may be initiating Hemodialysis in our neighboring Hemodialysis unit on the same floor. We also serve the patient population that requires peritoneal dialysis.

    Here's What You Need:

    * Graduate of accredited vocational nursing program required.

    * LVN- Licensed Vocational Nursing License upon hire required.

    * BCLS prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly.

    * CPI within 90 days of hire required.

    * 6 Months as an LVN in an acute care hospital setting or completion of THR residency program required.

    * 1+ year experience as a bedside LVN with experience in passing medications preferred

    In addition to the required qualifications, a successful LVN will

    *Demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced, high stress environment.

    *Maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude toward patients

    *Possess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalism

    *Have basic computer skills using Medical management application systems
