Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies through the Certain Personnel/Modified Direct Hire Authority. Responsibilities You will be responsible for assisting in planning and performing various audit, inspection, examination, and evaluation assignments. You will plan and perform various performance and financial audit and evaluation assignments or audit and attestation engagement assignments. You will Identify, analyze, and research accounting and auditing issues. You will participate in meetings with high level officials to brief on findings, explain the significance of conclusions, and justify recommendations. Performs other similar duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-14) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate performing duties such as; 1. Knowledge of concepts and practices of accounting and auditing and financial management. 2. Conducting examinations that require an integrated analysis of complex accounting systems and financing over a broad range of industry occupations. 3. Serving as senior expert and consultant to top agency management officials to advise on integrating the financial and budget systems. 4. Knowledge of supply chain management and logistics operations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess Degree: auditing; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, public administration or accounting. OR Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in Performance Auditing, or an equivalent combination of performance auditing experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional auditing knowledge. The applicant's background must also include one of the following: A certificate as a Certified Internal Auditor or a Certified Public Accountant, obtained through written examination; or Completion of the requirements for a degree that included substantial coursework in auditing or accounting, e.g., 15 semester hours. Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. This position is eligible for ad-hoc/situational telework at the discretion of management. You may be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) during site visits in warehouses. You may be required to work overtime to support audit related travel, mission-critical deadlines, including response to external audit inquiries and senior leadership briefings. Several vacancies may be filled.
