    The Georgia Department of Revenue is seeking a Claims Examiner 1 to support our Unclaimed Property Unit within the Local Government Services Division. The Unclaimed Property Unit (UCP) performs the unique function of collecting unclaimed property that has been otherwise abandoned by its owners and serves as custodian of said property until the rightful owners are found, and the property returned.

     

    The Claims Examiner plays a vital role in assisting customers via phone and email. Duties include but are not limited to:

     

    • Responding to customer inquiries regarding Unclaimed Property

    • Reviewing and approving a high volume of unclaimed property claims

    • Performing research to provide information to customer requests

    • Resolving complex issues related to the claims process

    Required Qualifications:

    + High school diploma/GED and one (1) year of job-related experience

     

    Preferred qualifications include customer service experience in a collaborative work environment and experience reviewing/processing claims.

     

    *Contingent workers must have completed at least 6 consecutive months on the current assignment to be considered.

     

    Salary: $40,560

     

    This role is a hybrid position, requiring work in the assigned office with 2 days of telework flexibility after demonstrated proficiency in all areas.
