Job Title: Product Development Scientist / Chemist

Compensation: $70,000 - $75,000

Our Product Development Scientist / Chemist conducts new research, develops new formulas, and optimizes new and existing products for various brands (over-the-counter vitamins, medications and supplements). Product Development Scientist / Chemist Key Responsibilities:

+ Works extensively with new and existing over-the-counter capsules, tablets & powders. Helps develop dosage and delivery in conjunction with Sales and Marketing.

+ Troubleshoots technical, formulation, and processing issues during product development and commercialization.

+ Works closely with Procurement/Purchasing to generate new formulation and specific raw material requirements for sourcing raw materials and enhancing existing formulations.

+ Multitasks and is able to manage the workload of multiple projects related to new products and process improvements.

+ Updates team and ERP in real time with detailed project information. Achieves project deadlines.

+ Runs and monitors benchtop, spectrophotometer, pilot, and manufactures scale-up and verification batches under minimal supervision.

+ Requires hands-on experience or knowledge to operate Tablet press, Encapsulation machine, Dry Granulation manufacturing process equipment and various lab equipment.

+ Performs maintenance and sanitation of laboratory equipment

+ Manages R&D project activities by accurately collecting, recording, maintaining, and reporting scientific data.

+ Adheres to strict SOPs, cGMPs and other company rules.

+ Maintains raw material inventory for day-to-day project activity

+ Performs Administrative and other related duties.

Product Development Scientist / Chemist Qualifications:

+ Bachelor of Science degree is required from an accredited USA college or university

+ Minimum 2 years of experience in the dietary supplement nutritional, food &/or beverage, or pharmaceutical industry

+ Familiarity with different dosage forms such as tablets, capsules and powders.
