Job Title: Senior Inspector - Geotechnical

Type: Contract

Compensation: Hourly, $55-75

Contractor Work Model: Onsite/In the Field 95% of the time.

Hours: Standard Hours/Flexible 1st for Inspection

We’re seeking a Senior Geotechnical Inspector to oversee construction activities in the field and ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and in compliance with engineering plans and codes. This role is highly hands-on, working outdoors on active construction sites, inspecting foundations, soils, utilities, concrete, and sitework installations.

Responsibilities:

+ Perform geotechnical and construction special inspections

+ Observe deep foundations, soil compaction, utilities, rebar, and concrete work

+ Conduct field testing and collect samples for lab analysis

+ Document daily site activities and prepare reports

+ Review plans and verify measurements, elevations, and materials

+ Support environmental monitoring and sampling

+ Mentor junior staff and ensure all safety protocols are followed

Requirements:

+ Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering; 8–10+ years of related experience

+ NY Professional Engineer (PE) required

+ OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER

+ Experience with foundations, soils, utilities, sitework, and field testing

+ Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and lifting 50+ lbs

+ Valid driver’s license; reliable transportation

+ Familiarity with AutoCAD, MS Office, and construction documentation tools
