Job Title: Lab Technician

Schedule: M-F 8-5 (Available weekends as well)

Type: Direct Hire

Responsibilities:

+ Performs routine and complex lab tests within established competencies and authorizations.

+ Follows all pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical procedures for specimens, testing, and reporting.

+ Monitors and documents quality control, maintenance, and calibration per protocols and standards.

+ Troubleshoots test performance issues and provides technical support to staff.

+ Starts up, shuts down, and maintains lab equipment; takes corrective action when needed and alerts Supervisor if unresolved.

+ Participates in proficiency testing in compliance with policies.

+ Updates lab policies, procedures, and regulatory documents as directed.

+ Assists with activities to maintain accreditation compliance.

+ Performs method validations, linearity, and parallel studies on instruments.

+ Maintains a clean, safe work area and complies with lab, safety, and HIPAA regulations.

+ Manages supply inventory and notifies Supervisor when replenishment is needed.

+ Adapts to changing company needs and works to improve knowledge, skills, and department operations.

+ Meet and maintain CLIA requirements.

Requirements:

+ Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology, or related science.

+ Basic lab skills: micropipetting, solution prep/dilution, aseptic technique, scientific literature review, and instrument operation/maintenance.

+ Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.

+ ELISA or radioimmunoassay experience. (Preferred)

+ High-volume micropipetting experience. (Preferred)

+ Experience in a CLIA-licensed diagnostic lab. (Preferred)
