As a Benefit Manager within PNC's Human Resources organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA.
The Manager of Health & Wellness (H&W) Benefits Administration is responsible for leading the day-to-day administration of health and welfare/wellness benefit programs. This role ensures accurate execution of processes, compliance with regulatory requirements, and effective vendor management. We are looking for someone who can work on design, ensuring offerings are market competitive, and future improvements with our benefits. This candidate will also play a key role in assisting with mergers and acquisitions from a benefit perspective.
Job duties include, but are not limited to;
Team Leadership & Oversight
• Lead and manage the H&W Administration team, providing guidance, coaching, and performance oversight.
• Foster talent development and maintain a high-performing team culture.
Benefits Administration
• Manage eligibility, enrollment, life events, and payroll interfaces for health, welfare, and wellness programs.
• Oversee annual open enrollment processes and ensure accurate data exchange with vendors.
• Oversee benefit-related payroll deductions and billing (COBRA, direct pay, vendor payments).
• Manage ACA filings and collaborate with external partners as needed.
• Lead year-end payroll and system testing related to benefits.
• Independently research complex benefits issues and propose resolutions.
Compliance & Controls
• Ensure timely completion and proper documentation of H&W controls, maintaining organized audit-ready records.
• Oversee compliance with applicable laws and regulations (ACA, ERISA, IRS, DOL, HIPAA), including adherence to reporting requirements.
• Manage regulatory filings and communications (e.g., Form 5500, PCORI, non-discrimination testing).
• Serve as HIPAA Coordinator, partnering with vendors and internal teams on breach protocols and reporting.
Vendor & Relationship Management
• Manage relationships with third-party administrators and vendors, ensuring alignment with plan provisions and organizational standards.
• Oversee technology integrations and processes for H&W vendors.
• Act as primary contact for vendors and internal shared services impacting ongoing operations.
Process Improvement & Support
• Continuously evaluate processes to identify opportunities for improved efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Research and resolve participant, HRBP, and call center inquiries promptly.
• Provide oversight for audit requests and ensure timely resolution.
• Coordinate root cause analysis and responses to escalations with internal and external partners.

• Effective relationship management and communication with multiple stakeholders, including vendors, legal counsel, accounting, and corporate communications.
• Leadership and people management experience, with a focus on talent development.
• Ability to communicate complex, detailed subjects to diverse audiences, including early-career professionals and senior executives.
• Expertise in leveraging data and analytics to make decisions, solve issues, and inform planning.

Job Description
+ Manages the development and administration of employee benefits programs, policies, and procedures and ensures compliance with related regulations.
+ Providing leadership in the planning, design, and implementation of benefits programs (e.g. medical, dental, vision, disability insurance, life insurance, and employee assistance programs) and ensuring all activities comply with legal requirements.
+ Overseeing the collection and overall accuracy of benefits data located within the organization's HRIS; evaluating current benefits programs and identifying and monitoring critical performance.
+ Managing vendor relationships to ensure adherence to required service levels for outsourced benefits providers.
+ Monitoring the employee benefits eligibility and enrollment process to ensure employees meet eligibility requirements.

Work Experience
Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree. Higher level education such as a Masters degree, PhD, or certifications is desirable. Industry experience is typically 8+ years. At least 5 years of prior management experience is typically required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.
