Special Education Teacher (LBS1) – $55/hr – Oak Park, Chicago, IL – Full-Time

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Special Education Teacher (LBS1) to provide quality services to high school students in a self-contained classroom. This role involves teaching all subjects, supporting students with social-emotional and behavioral needs, and collaborating with paraprofessionals and behavior techs.

Assignment Details:

+ Location: Oak Park, Chicago, IL

+ Start Date: January 5, 2026 (or as soon as cleared)

+ End Date: End of School Year

+ Schedule: Monday–Friday

+ Hours: 40 hrs/week

+ Duration: 30 weeks

+ Pay Rate: $55/hr

+ Grade Level: High School

+ Caseload: Self-contained classroom with social-emotional and behavioral needs

+ Support: Paraprofessional and behavior tech in each classroom

Requirements:

+ Valid Illinois teaching certificate with LBS1 endorsement

+ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (preferred)

+ Prior experience in special education classroom preferred

+ Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
