Job Title: Special Education Teacher (LBS1)

Pay Rate: $55/hr

Schedule: Full-time, 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM (30-min unpaid lunch)

Start Date: ASAP – End of School Year

About the Role

We are hiring 3 Special Education Teachers (LBS1) to provide exceptional services to students in Elementary (K–2) or Middle School (6–8). Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, you will deliver individualized instruction in a self-contained classroom setting, collaborate with general education staff, and ensure compliance with all educational standards.

Responsibilities

+ Provide specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs

+ Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

+ Collaborate with paraprofessionals and general education teachers

+ Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports

+ Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment

Minimum Requirements

+ Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)

+ Valid Illinois teaching certificate as required by state/district regulations

+ Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1)

+ Minimum of one year teaching experience (preferred)

+ Current CPR certification (if applicable)

+ TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (if applicable)

+ Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

+ Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

+ Must be at least 18 years of age

+ Grade Level: Elementary (K–2) or Middle School (6–8)

+ Caseload: Self-contained classroom, max 13 students

+ Support: Paraprofessional in class

+ Start/End Date: ASAP – End of School Year

+ Interview: In-person

+ Pay: $55/hr
