We are excited to invite applications for a Research Instruction Librarian who shares our passion for teaching, engagement, and inclusive excellence. This librarian will play a key role in empowering students to become confident researchers and lifelong learners in a liberal arts environment. As a faculty librarian, you will be part of a collegial and supportive community, with opportunities for professional growth, mentoring, and the chance to make a lasting impact on students and scholars alike.
In this position, you will:
+ Serve as the liaison librarian to the School of Education, working closely with faculty to design and deliver dynamic information literacy instruction.
+ Provide research support that helps students and faculty succeed in their academic goals.
+ Use your outreach and collaboration skills to strengthen Milne Library’s partnerships with the local area high schools to help us re-establish our high school instruction program.
This is a 12-month, 37.5 hours/week, tenure-track faculty appointment at the Senior Assistant Librarian rank. The initial appointment is two years, with the opportunity for renewal. The starting salary for this position is $59,899.

Responsibilities:
+ Serve as the liaison to the School of Education, which entails partnering with faculty to design and deliver tailored information literacy instruction for both undergraduate and graduate students. This role involves sustained outreach to build awareness of library services, collections, and programs, ensuring that faculty and students are fully supported in their teaching, learning, and research.
+ Participate in Milne Library’s general instruction program, which includes teaching first-year writing courses and classes for the Educational Opportunity Program, updating instructional guides, and contributing to library tutorials.
+ Collaborate with the Head of Collection Management on the organization and collection development for the Teacher Education Resource Center ( TERC ).
+ Provide research help services to students, faculty, and staff through in-person consultations and online communication.
+ Provide outreach to local area high schools and coordinate opportunities to re-establish Milne Library’s high school instruction program.
+ Participate on teams or committees in support of the Library’s and College’s missions.
Required Qualifications
+ Master’s degree in information and/or library science from an ALA -accredited school or an ALA -approved international equivalent by time of appointment
+ Proven commitment to advancing equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging in professional settings
+ Knowledge of pedagogy and innovative methods for teaching information literacy
+ Experience fostering teamwork to drive successful results
+ Skilled in conveying ideas clearly through speaking and writing
+ Candidates for this position must be legally permitted to work in the United States. VISA sponsorship is not available.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Knowledge of the Pre-K–12 education system, NYS curriculum, and/or teacher preparation programs
+ Experience teaching using active learning strategies
+ Previous experience as a liaison/outreach librarian
