SUNY Adirondack is a teaching- and learning-centered community college that fosters a diverse and equitable learning environment for students of all ages, backgrounds, goals, and learning styles. The College is located in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains, one hour north of Albany and thirty minutes from Saratoga Springs. A bachelor's degree is attainable on campus through SUNY Plattsburgh's branch campus. SUNY Adirondack's students include a diversity of backgrounds, ages, interests and origins. Major Responsibilities

The instructional responsibilities for this adjunct faculty position in the TECS Division will involve teaching Engineering Science classes, particularly calculus-based Physics. Other Engineering Science courses involving Circuits, Statics, Dynamics and Strength of Materials may be available as well. Familiarity with both classroom content and lab demonstrations will be needed.

Educational Requirements

A Master's degree in Engineering Science or a related field is preferred for the position, however a bachelor's degree and industry experience and/or professional licensure certification will also be considered. Teaching experience at the college level is highly desirable, especially experience in a community college environment. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate a commitment to the community college philosophy, familiarity with the use of technology in the classroom, teaching strategies with a focus on student-centered learning, excellent interpersonal skills, and a willingness to work in a collegial setting within the division.

Salary

Adjuncts’ salary is based on the number of credit hours per semester, remunerated at the rate of $1,230 per credit hour.
