    Job Description

    This role involves providing hands-on technical support for maritime software systems, primarily through pier-side visits to vessels for the installation and configuration of SAMM software. The technician will troubleshoot and resolve software configuration issues both on-site and remotely, escalating to technical service centers when necessary. In addition to system setup, the position includes delivering personalized shipboard training, responding to help calls, and contributing to the development and maintenance of training materials and guides. Adherence to safety and quality policies is essential, and the technician may be assigned additional duties to support other departments as needed. This position requires a proactive, adaptable individual with strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to operational excellence in dynamic environments.

    Skills and Requirements

    • High School diploma and technical training. Undergraduate level education in Information Technology or Marine Engineering is advantageous but not required.

    • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD Security Clearance

    • Working knowledge of computers/computer networks and Microsoft operating systems

    • Ability to perform work onboard ships while underway but usually performed pier side

    • Ability to travel local, domestic, and internationally up to 50% of the time

    • Generally, for 1-week durations (depending on location)
