The V2X Company is growing and looking for a **_Software Engineer, Lead_** to join our Mobile Sensors program team!
The V2X Mobile Sensors program performs Operations & Maintenance (O&M) and Sustainment requirements for the COBRA KING radar and communication systems onboard the USNS Howard O. Lorenzen. These systems and the program assigned employees are tasked to primarily operate in the Pacific Command's (PACOM) Area of Responsibility (AOR). Our program ensures the COBRA KING (CK) radar and communication systems are Fully Mission Capable (FMC) 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and capable of supporting mission operations on short notice.
V2X Mobile Sensors Management Office (MSMO) is seeking a **_Software Engineer, Lead_** to join our expanding portfolio in providing solutions that meet needs of our critical customer. This role is responsible for the support of technical solutions, designs, and execution of yearly software build deliveries and integration. This position will lead and provide direction associated with analysis of system performance, remediation of issues, and modernization/performance improvements of the current and future planned software builds
The Software Engineer Lead position will be responsible for building and maintaining the Deficiencies within Program related deliverables. This includes building new features, improving the existing features, and ensuring that the platform works as intended. This role will work closely with the Engineering Manager and provide guidance/direction our program software engineers to build new features, improve existing features, and ensure that the platform works as intended.
The candidate for this role will have strong communication and team building skills and embrace modern development processes and techniques that improve product quality and team productivity. The ability to listen with empathy and seek to understand the perspective of others is one of the keys to success within our program teams and the customer. This position will be located at the program office on Patrick Space Force Base, FL. (Cocoa Beach, FL)
This position involves CONUS/OCONUS travel; ~15%
Duties and responsibilities include:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Develop and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Direct and facilitate writeup of unit tests to verify that code works as intended.
• Write performance tests to monitor resource usage.
• Write documentation to describe how code works.
• Investigate issues (using system logs, source code inspection, database querying, etc.)
• Lead program meetings in developing root cause and corrective actions.
• Create, review, and/or facilitate statements of work for subcontractor support
• Collaborate with Program Engineering Team for software builds and system enhancements.
• Ensure configuration control on all software deliverables.
Hands-on experience with, and a working knowledge of the following areas:
• Experience in post processing data analysis (MATLAB)
• 10+ years of software development
• 5+ years of C++ software development
• Experience operating within a Linux-based environment.
• Familiar with Agile methodologies, Scrum, and CI/CD
• Solid understanding of real-time operating systems (RTOS)
• Experience in embedded programming
• Familiarity with Git, ClearCase, SVN, or similar
• Familiarity with the Python, Perl, BASH, and KSH languages.
Desired Qualifications:
• Windows, VxWorks, or similar
• Digital Signal Processing (DSP)
• Radar domain knowledge
• Model Based Engineering
• Object Oriented Analysis/Development
• Experience with Pascal
• Current Passport
Education Requirements:
+ BS degree in STEM; or 6+ years of equivalent work experience.
