The Supply Chain (Industrial Stone) Operations Intern will work in the gemstone operations department supporting various operations processes. The Intern will also work on special projects and tasks related to gemstone operations.
This position is fully onsite and based out of our New York City office. The rate for this position is $25 per hour.
Key Accountabilities
Operations Tasks
+ Establish understanding of JDE inventory system as it relates to gemstone processing
+ Learn about Inventory Management and perform related tasks such as Inventory Transfers and Cycle Counting
+ Train into Gemstone Operations processes such as Receiving and Purchasing and support with these tasks as needed
+ Train into the different Gemstone Operations Technology of Sarine, Imaging and Vision Counting and provide support to the department as needed
+ Learn about work order fulfillment, cross-train with team on how to supply gemstones and support the department as needed with this task
Operations Project Management
+ Work with Senior Analyst on compiling, updating and creating standard operating procedures (SOP’s) for all current gemstone operations processes
+ Work with Senior Analyst on KPI & Metric reporting
+ Work with Manager on various department projects
+ Value Stream Mapping and Process Flows
Communication & Presentation
+ Utilize tools such as JDE, DAS, Excel, PowerPoint to deliver results and present data to Management
+ Identity two process improvement ideas
Safety
+ Always work safely by consistently following safe work procedures for your role, as well as all safety procedures required at your worksite
Required Qualifications
+ Currently enrolled in Business or Supply Chain field curriculum program
+ Proficient in English
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills, problem solving and attention to detail
+ MS Office skills particularly using Excel, Power Point, Visio and Word
Preferred Qualifications
+ MBA student
