What We Are Looking For
We’re hiring a Lead Bagging Machine Operator – Mulching for our Windfern, TX mulch production facility. You will report to the site Foreman where you’ll operate equipment, ensure production goals are met, and promote a safe work environment for the team.
You will work Monday – Friday 7am – 5pm, Saturday, 7am – Noon (as needed to meet business demands).
What you’ll do:
+ Operate mulching packaging machinery to ensure mulch and soil meet compliance standards.
+ Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot minor issues to reduce downtime and maintain optimal equipment performance.
+ Inspect bagged products for consistency, weight accuracy, and proper sealing, correct deviations promptly.
+ Achieve daily production targets while maintaining high standards for quality and packaging accuracy.
+ Maintain accurate daily production logs and documentation.
+ Conduct regular site inspections, enforce OSHA compliance, and implement correction actions as needed.
+ Serve as backup to the Foreman, providing leadership, coaching and mentoring to team members.
+ Train employees on equipment.
Required Qualifications:
+ H.S. diploma, or GED.
+ 3+ years’ experience operating automated machinery, preferably in a mulching or packaging environment.
+ Forklift certification.
+ Proficient in reading and understanding machinery schematics and technical diagrams.
+ Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance.
+ Ability to analyze inventory data and manage shrinkage through ERP software (NetSuite experience a plus).
+ Exceptional attention to detail
+ Strong communication skills to work effectively with supervisors and team members.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience operating Piggyback equipment (forklift attachment or similar).
+ Supervisory experience, including coaching, mentoring and performance management.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data tracking and reporting.
+ OSHA 10 and 30 certifications.

+ Willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, etc. in jobs that require PPE
+ Ability to work in adverse weather/field conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, exposure to mechanical parts, wet and/or humid conditions, high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock and vibration, and loud noise levels.
