    This position will assist with research efforts in our food ingredients division with an emphasis on applications research in bakery, beverage, dairy, and meat products.

     

    Semester Offered: Spring/Summer or Summer/Fall 2026 (This is a co-op opportunity that will require you to work 40 hours/week during the day. Students typically take a full semester off from school or enroll in a reduced online or nightclass schedule during the length of their co-op.)

     

    Pay Rate: $32.50/hour

     

    I’m interested! What will I get to do in this position?

     

    + Assist in research and applications work for food applications (bakery, beverage, dairy, and meat) containing various functional ingredients

    + Conduct data analysis and provide interpretation, draw conclusions from a variety of microbiological, chemical and physical tests

    + Conduct basic analytical testing (pH, Texture Analysis, water activity, moisture, viscosity, etc.) to support product development work

    + Maintains the lab operations: maintains inventory records and other relevant performance data and keeps lab areas and equipment calibrated, clean and operational

    + Participate in site safety activities

     

    What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role?

     

    + Pursuing a B.S. degree in Food Science or Chemistry related

    + Completed sophomore year in college or recent graduate (December 2025 graduate to start in January 2026 or May 2026 to start in May 2026)

    + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

    + Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization

    + Strong focus on data collection and documentation

    + Ability to set priorities, manage multiple projects and demonstrate strong attention to detail

    + Highly motivated and eager to learn

    + Strong computer skills
