Job Title: Production Worker

Immediate Supervisor: Production Supervisor

Summary: The Cheese Production Worker is responsible for assisting in the daily operations of cheese manufacturing, including curd handling, packaging, sanitation, and equipment operation. This position plays a key role in ensuring product quality, food safety, and production efficiency in a fast-paced environment. Candidates must be able to follow safety and sanitation protocols, perform repetitive tasks, and work collaboratively with the production team to meet operational goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

+ Perform all functions of the cheese manufacturing process in accordance with established production standards.

+ Inspect equipment to ensure proper operation and safety compliance.

+ Follow operational procedures and accurately complete all required documentation.

+ Adhere to sanitation, safety, GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), quality control and cleaning protocols.

+ Record accurate product counts during production.

+ Report any defective, non-compliant, or substandard product to the Production Supervisor immediately.

+ Support other areas of the plant as needed to maintain production flow.

+ Aid the Production Lead in training new employees on job specific tasks.

+ Follow operation procedures and complete required paperwork.

Qualifications/Requirements:

+ High school diploma preferred or equivalent skills by experience.

+ Previous production experience preferred.

+ Must be able to read, interpret and understand written and oral directions.

+ Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies.

+ Must demonstrate basic math skills to calculate production yields and understand weights and measurements.

+ Must be able to communicate, understand and write in the English language.

+ Must be able to work flexible hours and weekends.

+ Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, stand or walk for prolonged periods of time. The employee is required to use hands and fingers to operate, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms on a repetitive basis. The employee must be able to push, pull, and move up to 100 pounds. The employee must be able to physically lift up to 50 pounds. Requires visual acuity to review written documentations; ability to hear and understand speech. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level. There is exposure to a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, and exposure to heat/cold temperature changes.
