MANUFACTURING ELECTRICIAN

WAGE; $30-$35/HOUR

DIRECT HIRE

Position Summary:

The Industrial Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment in a food manufacturing environment. This includes ensuring all work complies with electrical codes, safety standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) specific to the food industry.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Install, inspect, and maintain electrical systems including wiring, conduit, panels, and control systems.

+ Troubleshoot and repair electrical components on production equipment (e.g., conveyors, mixers, ovens, packaging machines).

+ Work with PLCs, VFDs, HMI interfaces, and automated systems common in food manufacturing.

+ Perform routine preventive maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.

+ Ensure compliance with all electrical codes, food safety regulations, and plant safety protocols.

+ Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and system performance.

+ Collaborate with other maintenance and production personnel to minimize disruptions.

+ Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to energy efficiency, equipment upgrades, and plant safety.

+ Respond to emergency breakdowns as needed during production shifts.

Qualifications:

+ High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or journeyman electrician license preferred.

+ Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in an industrial or food processing environment.

+ Proficient in reading electrical schematics and technical manuals.

+ Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and industrial automation.

+ Familiarity with HACCP, GMP, and sanitary design principles a plus.

+ Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

+ Ability to work in cold, wet, or humid environments typical of food plants.

+ Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, or overtime as required.
