    Job Summary

    Data / Reporting Analysts

     

    Conduct data analysis in support of a variety of analytic solutions. Capture, develop, and document data definitions, business rules, and data quality requirements. Create and produce forecasts, reports, ad hoc requests, dashboards, etc. Interpret data, analyze results, and provide insights to determine operational impact, trends, and opportunities. Develop reports and deliverables for management and communicate with all levels of stakeholders. Identify and define both process and data improvements. Ensure compliance with deliverable reporting requirements by performing quality data audits and analysis.

    Responsibilities

    + Review, evaluate, design, implement, and maintain company databases to support business operations and data integrity.

    + Identify data sources and develop data decomposition diagrams, data flow diagrams, ERDs, and comprehensive process documentation.

    + Develop scripts for data extraction, transformation, and modification, and optimize databases for improved performance and scalability.

    + Write advanced scripts using DDL / DML & Window functions to query, process, and analyze large-scale datasets across multiple platforms, such as Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL.

    + Design and structure scalable, efficient data warehouses aligned with organizational analytic and reporting needs.

    + Develop, automate, and maintain recurring data processes using Python, SQL , and R with a high level of proficiency.

    + Detect, troubleshoot, and resolve issues including CPU , memory, I/O, disk space, and other resource constraints.

    + Conduct data profiling, quality assessments, and validation to support analytical initiatives and production operations.

    + Keep track of data changes and develop deep expertise in data dictionaries, metadata, and domain knowledge of organizational databases.

    + Follow established project management guidelines and workflows using JIRA and GitHub for task tracking, documentation, and version control.

    + Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, technical partners, and key business stakeholders.

    + Present findings, reports, and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical audiences, including leadership and external stakeholders.

    Minimum Qualifications

    **EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT :** 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).

    Department may hire employee at one of the following job levels:

    **Data / Reporting Analyst, II:** Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 4 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience.

    **Data / Reporting Analyst, III :** Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 6 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 4 years of directly related work experience.

     

    Preferences

     

    + Strong experience in MS SQL Server Database and PostgreSQL Administration with demonstrated ability to optimize performance and maintain system reliability.

    + Advanced proficiency in DDL , DML , and Window functions for script development, including writing complex queries and stored procedures.

    + Experience with data profiling tools, methodologies, and best practices.

    + Demonstrated expertise in database programming with Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and related ETL technologies.

    + Preferred: Experience as a Database Analyst, Data Analyst, ETL Engineer, or in a related technical field.

    + Preferred: Enterprise-level experience developing PostgreSQL-based solutions.

    + Preferred: At least 2 years of experience with dimensional modeling concepts for data warehousing.

    + Proven ability to work with large-scale datasets, both structured and unstructured.
