    Senior Equipment Condition Specialist

    As a Senior Equipment Condition Specialist, you will join our talented Operations Technical Services Department as a strategic technical leader, ensuring the reliability, performance, and safety of critical rotating machinery across our power generation and water treatment facilities. In addition to collecting and analyzing data, this position provides advanced expertise in predictive maintenance (PDM) and non-destructive testing (NDT), performs select inspections, and leads planning for reliability initiatives. You will also oversee diagnostic investigations and drive enterprise-level reliability programs. _Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to earn certifications directly related to your role—at_

    This is an advanced-level position that will mentor technical teams, standardize best practices, collaborate with craft personnel and leadership, and influence long-term planning through design improvements and technology upgrades. As a Senior Equipment Condition Specialist, you will serve as a subject matter expert for root cause analysis and advanced troubleshooting, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and compliance with industry standards. The position reports to the System Monitoring, Diagnostics and Controls (SDC) group, Condition Monitoring Supervisor.

    Key Areas of Focus:

    + Validate reports and provide actionable recommendations

    + Perform advanced diagnostics and root cause failure analysis (RCFA)

    + Develop and implement condition monitoring and NDT strategies

    + Manage vibration databases and optimize predictive maintenance tools

    + Define acceptance criteria for new/rebuilt equipment

    + Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety protocols

    + Advise on troubleshooting and repair planning for critical assets

    + Mentor and train technical staff; promote best practices and emerging technologies

    + Deliver reports on reliability trends, cost savings, and improvement plans

    Qualifications:

    + A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Reliability, or Industrial Engineering is preferred; however, extensive mechanical experience may be used in place of a degree

    + Proven track record of industrial maintenance and reliability experience, including leadership in predictive maintenance programs, is preferred

    + Strong analytical skills and experience with power generation/water treatment equipment

    + Required certifications:

    + ISO Level II Vibration Analyst

    + Infrared Thermography I

    + Lube Oil Analysis I

    + Airborne Ultrasound I

    + ASNT Level I in UT, MT, PT, VT

    + Preferred: Advanced PDM/NDT certifications (ISO Level III Vibration Analysis, ASNT Level II NDT, Oil Analysis II)

    + Valid driver’s license required

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

    + Exerts up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently, and/or a small amount of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those required for Sedentary Work. Even though the weight lifted may be only a small amount, a job should be rated Light Work when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree or when it requires sitting most of the time, but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls and/or when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is small. NOTE: The constant stress and strain of maintaining a production rate pace, especially in an industrial setting, can be and is physically demanding work even though the amount of force exerted is negligible.

    + Positions in this class typically require climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions. Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, workspace restrictions and intense noises.
