Senior Field Representative Root & Bulb
Accountable and responsible for producing seeds at the expected yield, with optimal quality and cost, at the right time. Responsible to reliably coordinate the harvest and delivery of seed from the field to the plant.
Accountable to successfully manage relationships with growers, labor contractors and align with internal teams
Mentoring and Knowledge Transfer / Subject Matter Expert. Actively engage colleagues (Field Reps) and growers to consult on germplasm and agronomic best practices. Expert in identifying issues / conditions in the crop / field & provide solutions.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Develop strategic grower partnerships promoting reliable high quality seed production to enhance and grow the R&B production capabilities and footprint.
+ Use of Data & Analytics / Experience for Grower selection and variety micro-placement.
+ Participate in special or strategic regional or global projects.
+ Select growers to achieve higher production reliability, which includes reviewing grower skill and capability, previous performance, isolation distance, production area suitability, optimum sowing window, etc.
+ Execute all aspects of contractual agreements, propose changes to grower pricing and contract guidelines/ strategies.
+ Lead and/or Support field activities including: timely stock seeds (SS) shipment to grower and SS reconciliation, trial coordination, rouging, disease and weed scouting, pollination, harvesting, threshing, drying, and delivery from grower to processing facility.
+ Visit and keep track of the production fields at every phenological stage. Engage with growers to adopt best practices to maximize seed yield and quality.
+ Train production workers (labor crew) and growers.
+ Update production yield estimates in Bayer digital platforms in a timely and realistic manner.
+ Ensure that field inspections are done in a timely manner with Field Quality team and local authorities to obtain required phytosanitary certificates for seed exportation.
+ Production Data and Analysis. Analyze past production quantity, quality, base rates, cost and timeliness data. Address areas for improvement, simplification, optimization or expansion of our business, including Grower Performance analysis.
+ Support and assist the Production Coordinator to ensure timely grower settlement and resolve any grower/vendor issues.
+ Innovation. Cooperate with Crop Specialist, Field Quality and Seed Production Research (SPI) personnel to identify, develop and implement projects to improve reliability, quality, and/or cost.
+ Ensure external and internal compliance in our operations, including SSHE, Human Rights, Business Conduct, QMS, BIO-ETS, and MARGO.
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
+ B.S. degree or High school diploma with 10+ years' experience in growing crops in the Seed Industry
+ Excellent human relation skills, effective communication skills required.
+ Experience in leading teams, preferred.
+ Ability to influence all levels in the organization
+ Customer Focus, Innovation & Experimentation, Collaboration and implementation of best practices, Knowledge Sharing
+ Process Oriented and Results Orientated
+ Negotiations Skills, Plans and Aligns

Preferred Qualifications
+ MS or MBA, preferred
+ Degree in agriculture discipline
Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $82,843.20 - $124,264.80. Additional compensation may include a bonus or incentive compensation (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
