This position supports the Office of Materials and Road Research Lab by maintaining and repairing facility systems and equipment. Responsibilities include HVAC, mechanical, and general building maintenance, such as servicing boilers, chillers, air handlers, alarms, lighting, plumbing, and lab testing equipment. The role also involves leading other maintenance staff and serving as the licensed Boiler Operator (Class 1C) for the facility. Additionally, the position performs skilled machinist work to prepare lab samples and fabricates or modifies specialized lab and building equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Boiler License 1-C or higher with Dept of Labor and Industry.
+ Experience in building automation system.
+ Ability to perform semi-skilled trades work sufficient to complete minor trades plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and/or electrical systems and equipment.
+ Ability to perform minor repairs and adjustments to machinery and equipment including the general maintenance and minor repairs of buildings.
+ Skills in using hand and power tools and other trades equipment.
+ Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety measures related to trades work sufficient to perform the work safely and efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience in building maintenance operations such as carpentry, painting, and electrical, plumbing and general mechanics.
+ Experience with welding and machining process.
